The nominees for the 2013 American Music Awards have been announced, and several of hip hop and R&B's biggest names are up for awards.
This year the ceremony will take place November 24 at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. and will feature performances from Miley Cyrus and Imagine Dragons.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead in nominations with nods in six categories, followed by Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake with five apiece.
Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will all battle it out for both Rap Artis of the Year and Rap Album of the Year, while Rihanna, Alicia Keys, and Ciara go up against each other for Female Soul/R&B Artist of the Year.
