Veteran West Coast rapper Too Short has been busted for DUI and after allegedly trying to flee from police, according to TMZ.

Short was pulled over in L.A. in the very early morning of March 19 for a traffic violation. When officers approached the vehicle, he appeared to be under the influence.

When cops attempted to administer a breathalyzer test, police say Too Short took off running down the street, but tripped.

Police apprehended the rapper and placed him under arrest.

On the way back to the station, law enforcement sources say Too Short tried to dump narcotics in the back of the police cruiser.

Sources say Too Short blew a .09 -- just barely over the .08 legal limit.

The "Blow the Whistle" spitter was booked on DUI and felony narcotics possession.
