A juror in Florida who voted to convict reggae star Buju Banton on drug charges is now denying that she improperly researched the case before coming to a verdict, despite having told a local newspaper that she did just that.

Banton is currently serving a decade-long sentence for being convicted of cocaine conspiracy and trafficking charges stemming from a 2009 arrest. The Jamaican singer is facing an additional five years on a related gun possession charge, but that hearing has been postponed while the report of juror misconduct is investigated.
