More details continue to emerge from the case of Jovan Belcher, who fatally shot and killed his girlfriend Kassandra Perkins before taking his own life. According to the Kansas City Star and the case file they obtained, text messages from Belcher to another woman reveal that he had possibly intended to pull the trigger on his girlfriend weeks before it occurred and "would shoot" her "if she didn't leave him alone."

The case file also included other text messages indicating that Belcher's girlfriend "knew exactly how to press his buttons and make him angry" and "threatened to take all his money and his child if they split up."

Weeks before the tragic murder-suicide struck the sports world, Belcher missed a team meeting. He blamed his absence on Kassandra who reportedly never returned home the night before, leaving Belcher with no choice but to watch over their 3-year-old daughter, Zoey.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel even expressed his feelings about the couple, saying "he thought the couple had 'trust issues' and Perkins expected 'a better life' with an NFL player."
