The family of boxing legend Hector "Macho" Camacho have decided to take him off life support following a tragic drive-by shooting earlier this week that has left him brain dead. A rep for the boxer confirmed the news to TMZ, revealing that his family made the decision after he was declared brain dead.

Hector's family is reportedly making funeral preparations, and are torn between having the ceremony in New York or Puerto Rico, but some are still holding out hope that the fighter will make a turn around. Hector Camacho Jr., the boxer's son, spoke about his dad's condition to Sports Illustrated.

"My father is a boxer and we're going to let him fight for his life. The doctors have said a lot of things, but he is alive, he's in the fight.''
