Earlier in the year, 2 Chainz created a major buzz for himself and it resulted in the Atlanta rap artist having an all around successful 2012. He's created and been featured on some of the year's most popular songs and attained great success from his solo debut album "Based On A T.R.U. Story". It was enough to earn him The Source's 3rd annual Man Of The Year Award and a spot on that particular issue's cover.

Some excerpts from the story have been revealed as well. 2 Chainz spoke about the changing of his name as well as coming up in 2012.

"It wasn't like my name made me rap better," he said of his name change. "I worked my a** off....It felt good to outdo myself and just be omnipresent and be a part of everything."

Speaking in terms of his come up, he stated "Those who haven't been through that struggle don't mind going to the zoo to pet the animals. They don't wanna live in the zoo, but they don't mind coming through. I'm someone who can show you around in a cool way where you don't have to worry about getting eaten up."
