DJ Paul, member of rap group Three 6 Mafia, was arrested late Sunday night in New York City. The Memphis, Tennessee native was detained for having an open container in public as well as possession of a taser, according to AllHipHop.

Sources say DJ Paul finished up a dinner in Manhattan and proceeded to purchase a beer shortly after. A police officer began to follow DJ Paul, and during a search he revealed that he had a taser on him, which was then removed by the officer.

The officers knew who DJ Paul was as they posed for photos with him and even sang the group's smash hit "Stay Fly" according to AllHipHop.

"Police officers allegedly took photos with him and [began] singing the chorus to his hit single 2005 single 'Stay Fly' featuring Young Buck and Eightball & MJG."

DJ Paul faces a misdemeanor weapons charge for the taser and open container in public for the beer. He is to be released later on today.
