Sources have been confirming reports that long time Hip-Hop manager and Violator Management founder Chris Lighty has passed away. While full details are still being determined, it appears that he died from an apparent suicide. Law enforcement officials say Lighty shot himself in the head in his Bronx apartment. A gun was also discovered near his body.

Violator Management has worked with some of music's most renowned artists, including the likes of Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, Missy Elliott, Fantasia, Mýa, Diggy Simmons, Cormega, Ja Rule, Mobb Deep, LL Cool J, Nas just to name a few.

Lighty's longtime friend and fellow manager, Jeff Robinson, confirmed the heartbreaking news on his Twitter account.

"So very sad about Chris lighty..Great long time friend,fellow bronxite and peer...incredible businessman and person."

Within minutes of the news breaking online, celebs who worked with and knew of Lighty's legacy in the music industry took to Twitter to voice their sorrows.
