Beanie Sigel wasn't supposed to check into prison to begin serving his two year sentence for failing to file his Federal income-tax returns until September 12th. However, due to the fact that he was arrested early on the morning of Wednesday, August 29th, on the I-95 highway after a gun was found in the vehicle he was riding in, along with a bottle of codeine, prescription pills, and a large amount of money, he is being transferred to Federal custody today to begin his prison sentence.

Beans' longtime attorney Fortunato N. Perri reported to XXL, stating:

"At this point, the Federal authorities will take him into custody and he'll begin serving the sentence that he was going to start on September 12 anyway.  He had bail set on the new charges, but the Federal authorities have issued a detainer—a warrant, essentially—that will transfer him to Federal custody and he'll start serving his sentence."

He was initially scheduled to serve 2 years for tax evasion but his new crimes have increased that to 7 years max. His newest album, This Time, was released yesterday, August 28th.
