Last week, footage of a 10 minute "Watch The Throne" documentary surfaced and gained quite a buzz. The filming took place in Sydney, Australia during the time when Jay-Z and Kanye West were finishing up their popular collaborative album. According to reports, a source revealed to the New York Daily News that Overbrook Entertainment, a production company owned by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, will be heading up production on the documentary. The source says the full documentary will premier at the Toronto Film Festival on September 9th.
This joint effort isn't the first time Jay-Z and the Smith family worked together. Jay-Z signed Will and Jada's daughter, Willow, to his Roc Nation label back in 2010. In January of 2011, the couple's production company, along with the Brooklyn rapper, announced that they would be heading up a remake of the movie "Annie" with Willow as the star. And this past April, it was announced that Overbrook Entertainment and Roc Nation would serve as investors for the "Viddy" app.
