The Knicks newly signed veteran point guard Jason Kidd was arrested for drunk driving early on Sunday morning. Police assumed he was intoxicated when they got to him, as he had just ran his Escalade into a telephone pole. Kidd was arrested by Southampton police sometime around 2 am, and treated for minor injuries. He was charged with a misdemeanor DWI, and was released shortly after.
This DWI comes only slightly over a week since Kidd was signed by the Knicks to a 3-year, $9.5 million contract. Thankfully he walked away from this without any career threatening injuries.
