Eve has spent a year and a half working on her much delayed upcoming album "Lip Lock," and now that she has gotten past all of the issues revolving around her management, label, and lawyer that prevented the album from being released sooner, she is finally anticipating that it will be released in the fall.  She didn't give an exact date, probably because she doesn't want to have to disappoint her fans again with another delay, but she is very hopeful that her album will be distributed to stores and iTunes come the fall season of 2012.

Eve explained the situation regarding her upcoming album during an interview with Time.com, and also how she intends on staying true to her roots and why so many fans loved her for her rhyming style, while at the same time showing her evolution with her lyricism.

"Not an exact date, but we're wanting it to come out in the fall.  I wanted to really take what people loved of me and fell in love with in the beginning, with the Ruff Ryders and all of them, and combine it with where I am now. As far as my ear with music now, because I traveled so much, I think musically my ear has grown. And then lyrically obviously I think I've grown. Hopefully people will feel that. Hopefully my core audience won't feel like I've left them behind. That was a big deal for me, to make them feel like they're involved in my growth."
